100 Years of Kramer: Constantly in Motion

Kramer-Werke is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year.
Under the motto “Constantly in Motion”, the company is not only proudly reflecting on a century of innovation, quality, and passion — but is also confidently looking to the future. A new, high-quality machine design marks the beginning of a new era.
Milestones in an Eventful History
Kramer’s story began in 1925 in Gutmadingen, with the founding of the company by the Kramer brothers. What started as a small agricultural machinery workshop has evolved over decades into a globally successful manufacturer of agricultural and construction machinery.
1925: Foundation of the “First German Special Factory for Small Tractors and Motor Mowers” by brothers Emil, Hans, and Karl Kramer. The first product: a small tractor with 4hp. In the first year, 33 machines were sold marking the start of a remarkable success story with just eight employees.
1932: With the GL9 and GL14 models, Kramer launched the first “Allesschaffer” with diesel drive — a term still widely used in agricultural technology today. The switch to diesel set new industry standards, soon followed by other manufacturers.
1950: By the company’s 25th anniversary, total production approached 20,000 units. The anniversary model, K22TH, proved to be a complete success.
1959: Start of series production for the first all-wheel-drive shovel loader, KS510 — laying the foundation for Kramer’s entry into the construction machinery market.
1973: A strategic shift: Kramer discontinued production of tractors and multi-purpose vehicles, focusing exclusively on compact construction machinery.
1987: Series production began for the Kramer312 all-wheel-steer wheel loader. Thanks to its all-wheel steering and undivided frame, the machine offered outstanding stability, maneuverability, and off-road capability — a concept that remains successful today.
1993 : With the 312LEx model, Kramer introduced its first telescopic wheel loader, developed in response to customer demand for greater dumping height and reach. The undivided frame ensures stability even at maximum extension.

2000: Merger of Neuson Baumaschinen GmbH with Kramer-Werke GmbH to form Neuson Kramer Baumaschinen AG.
2005: A new chapter: Kramer added telehandlers to its product portfolio. This included the production of telehandlers for CLAAS, designed specifically for agricultural use. The partnership concluded in 2017.
2007: Merger with Wacker Construction Equipment AG. The two companies combine strengths in product offering and market reach.
2012: Kramer strengthened its position in the agricultural sector and returned to its roots — with machines once again featuring the iconic Kramer green.
2016: World premiere at Bauma: Kramer presented the 5055e — the first fully electric, all-wheel-steer wheel loader which is immediately honoured with the Innovation Award.
2017: Kramer formed a strategic alliance with John Deere to jointly distribute wheel loaders and telehandlers in the agricultural sector.
2021: Launch of the first telehandler with a 10-meter stacking height — a new milestone for Kramer. Also introduced: Smart Attach — a fully hydraulic quick-hitch system that boosts safety and convenience. Attachments can be changed entirely from inside the cab, eliminating the need to exit the machine.
2024: The new KT316 telehandler model was awarded the DLG Gold Medal for its integrated dynamic weighing system — further proof of Kramer’s commitment to innovation.
2025 : Kramer celebrates 100 years of an eventful and successful company history—under the guiding motto: “Constantly in Motion.”
